58th Kawabun-za “Geiko & Maiko of Nagoya – Meigiren Performance”

Kawabun is the oldest Ryotei restaurant in Nagoya, with a history of over 400 years. At its back garden, the modern stone stage designed by world-renowned sculptor and garden designer Masayuki Nagare.

On May 16th and 17th, the restaurant will be the location for the traditional Kawabun-za, a performance of old entertainment arts during which guests can enjoy the show while tasting the superb preparations served by the Ryotei.
This year, the customary performance by Meigiren will include sessions during the day and at night too.

[Daytime Session] : Arts Performance Only
5,000 yen (includes performance admission, earphone audio guide, tea service)
Stage start at 2:30 PM (reception start at 1:30 PM) – 3:30 PM (Estimate)
Recommended for those looking for the performances, without meal. Cast centered on the younger members of Meigiren, with Makoto making her stage debut.

[Nighttime Session]
25,000 yen (includes performance admission, earphone audio guide, tea service, complete banquet, drinks, tax, and artistic charge)
Stage start at 6:00 PM (reception start at 5:00 PM) – 9:00 PM (Estimate)
The entire Meigiren cast – 2 Maiko and 16 Geiko – will be executing a grand performance. Afterwards, Kawabun banquet and mingling with the artists.
