Nagoya Castle Spring Festival
Every year there is the Spring Festival at Nagoya Castle which is famous for Cherry Blossoms. The Cherry Blossoms have started to bloom earlier than last year, so it is better to go at the start of this festival to see them at their best!
At this festival there are performances held on the castle grounds and Nishimaru Stage. Expect to see different live music performances from 11-13:30 depending on the day you attend including the shamisen (April 3), koto (April 9) and wadaiko (April 10). There will be a Japanese tea ceremony performance from March 29 through April 5 from 10 to 15:00 (tickets can be purchased until 14:30pm each day). The Manju (Japanese sweets) and green tea will be served for an extra \800.
Nagoya Castle also offers an illumination of the Cherry Blossoms and the main entrance of Honmaru Palace. There will be special extended hours from March 26th to April 10th. On these dates the castle grounds will be illuminated from sunset until 20:00 (but visitors will not be allowed inside the main castle tower or Honmaru Palace after 16:00)
